Cameron Young (1st/-8) opens with a bogey-free 63 and holds a two-stroke lead after the first round of the RBC Heritage.

This is his first lead after any round of his PGA TOUR career (previous-best 18-hole position: T2, 2022 Genesis Invitational/finished T2). His lowest first-round score of his PGA TOUR career (previous: 64, 2022 American Express/finished T40).

Young is one stroke shy of his career-low 18-hole score after any round (62, R2/2022 Genesis Invitational).

The first score in the 60s since the final round of The Honda Classic (65), snapping a streak of eight consecutive scores in the 70s. He has two runner-up finishes this season (Sanderson Farms Championship, The Genesis Invitational), tied with Collin Morikawa for most on TOUR/

Has one rookie winner on TOUR this season (Chad Ramey/Corales Puntacana Championship)

This is the fifth time this season Joaquin Niemann (2nd) has been T3 or better after 18 holes, the most of any player; Niemann’s last five 18-hole positions on TOUR: 1st-T45-T3-T3-2nd.

At The Genesis Invitational in February, Niemann won and Young finished T2; the two played in the final grouping together (along with Viktor Hovland).

Both PGA TOUR members from Chile are T3 or better: Niemann (2nd/-6) and rookie Mito Pereira (T3/-5).

Corey Conners (T3/-5) made a hole-in-one (No. 7, 187 yards), his fourth on the PGA TOUR since the start of the 2019-20 season (most on TOUR in that stretch.

2013 RBC Heritage winner Graeme McDowell (T3/-5) tied his lowest score of the season with a 66 (fourth instance; first since R1/The American Express).

Reigning FedExCup Champion Patrick Cantlay (T3/-5) opened with a 66, snapping a streak of seven consecutive scores in the 70s on TOUR; Cantlay opened the season with four consecutive top-10s and has not recorded one in four starts since losing to Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at the WM Phoenix Open.

Shane Lowry (T3/-5) has finished in the top 15 in each of his last four stroke-play starts on TOUR (2nd/The Honda Classic, T13/THE PLAYERS Championship, T12/Valspar Championship, T3/Masters Tournament).

Making his 100th career start on the PGA TOUR, 2022 Honda Classic champion Sepp Straka recorded a 5-under 66 to stand T3.

Defending champion and three-time RBC Heritage winner Stewart Cink is T10; last player to successfully defend title at the RBC Heritage: Boo Weekley (2008).

Webb Simpson (T32/-2) made five consecutive birdies to finish the round, becoming the first player on record (1983-present) to birdie Nos. 14-18 at Harbour Town Golf Links in a single round.

Competing on a Major Medical Extension in his first PGA TOUR start since the 2019 Shriners Children’s Open, Morgan Hoffmann stands T71 after an even-par 71. Hoffmann has three starts remaining on his extension and needs 238.420 or more FedExCup points in those starts to remain in the Major Medical category for the rest of the season.
