Sunit Chowrasia has witnessed several firsts, be it his swing, fitness or diet.

Despite a runaway 2021 season on the Professional Golf Tour of India, Sunit Chowrasia felt the acute need to work on his irons. It was also a while since he had seen coach Jesse Grewal in Chandigarh, and the start to 2022 left him certain that this critical area needed to be looked into ASAP.

Barring the week in Bangladesh, his lone top-5 till now, it was about coping somehow, and the missed cut at the Gurugram Challenge spurred him into action.

Three days with the coach not only led to small but intricate changes like the grip, etc; it left Sunit a lot more aware about the swing.

He was prepared for the long way back, after all it takes time to adjust to a new prescription, but finding himself five off the lead going into the final day of the Players Championship in Chandigarh, Sunit is pleasantly surprised.

In fact, novelty has been the flavour of the year for the young pro. During off-season, Sunit was introduced to a whole lot of drills in the gym, and his diet too wears a new look. Smoothies in the morning are one, as is staying away from non-vegetarian stuff on tournament weeks.

Sunit is enjoying the fresh flavours and should he win on the morrow riding the new swing, it will buttress the freshness around his approach to the sport.
