After successfully conducting tournaments in other parts of the country, the Indian Golf Union pitched tent in Kolkata’s Tollygunge Club for the Eastern India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship.

Notable names at the October 25-28 event were Sneha Singh, who won on the WGAI at Noida Golf Club last month, and Avani Prashanth, coming on the back of a win on the ladies pro tour in Panchkula last week. Smriti Bhargav arrived here after a runner-up finish in the last event, IGU North-East India Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship.

Conducted over three days, apart from the practice round, competition was across four categories — Ladies, A, B and C.
